Umbel
OMBELLE is a mohair yarn that belongs to the OMBELLE - KIDOPALE - BLING-BLING family. OMBELLE combines 75% mohair fiber, which provides a vaporous, fuzzy and puffy side, with a binding fiber ("core of the yarn") made with 20% natural wool and 5% polyamide material; the latter provides its strength and elasticity while being used to create loops. Mohair fiber is the fleece of this particular breed of goats of Caucasian origin, raised today mainly on the high plateaus of South Africa, even if high-quality breeding has been developing in France for several years. Fonty selects fine, long and homogeneous fibers from herds of young animals.
OMBELLE can be knitted alone, doubled, or even tripled, or mixed with other yarns to obtain subtle combinations combining the visual effect of mohair with the properties of other materials (softness, shine, elasticity, resistance). The range of OMBELLE colors is wide, mixing very bright tones with more neutral tones. OMBELLE yarn, knitted alone, is recommended for needles number 3.5 to 4. This yarn is best washed by hand, with mild soap (Marseille soap, preferably organic), without spinning, dry flat.
