The shearing of alpacas selected by Adriafil is a precious ritual according to an ancestral methodology which is done once a year, in spring, and which is fundamental for the well-being of the animal. This fiber is exceptionally warm. If shearing were not done in the spring, the animal would suffer and the quality of the fleece would also suffer.

Alpaca fiber is carefully selected by our experts on-site from certified, eco-sustainable farms. It is completely hollow (unlike wool fiber), which is why Sierra Andina extra-fine pure alpaca yarn is much warmer than wool!
